Dark Lip Neutralization
Dusky or hyperpigmented lips are not a colour problem, they are an undertone problem. Layering pigment straight over them turns muddy. We correct the underlying tone first, then build sheer colour on top of a clean base.

How the day goes
- Consultation. Shape, border definition and colour saturation decided together.
- Numbing. Topical anaesthetic, 20 to 30 minutes. Most people describe it as light scratching.
- Colour. Applied evenly across the full lip surface.
- Border. Refined for symmetry.
- Follow-up at 4 to 6 weeks. The touch-up that settles the final result.
Days 1 to 3 the colour looks 30 to 50 percent darker than your result. That is normal and it softens. Full healing takes 4 to 6 weeks.

Will it look like makeup?
That is the thing we design against. Rather than filling the whole lip with heavy, artificial colour, we aim for a clear, sheer finish, as if the colour had soaked in, with a natural freshness and a clean lip line left after healing.
Does it hurt?
A professional-grade topical numbing cream is applied before and during. Most clients describe the sensation as light scratching or tickling. Lips are generally very comfortable compared with eyeliner.
How long does it last?
The healed result lasts 2 to 3 years. Permanent makeup is semi-permanent: oilier skin and sun exposure cause faster fading, and an annual colour refresh keeps it current.
I already have old lip tattooing. Can you work over it?
Yes, with a consultation. We evaluate existing work to determine whether a correction or enhancement is possible. Faded, warm-toned or misshapen prior work can often be improved. In some cases lightening is recommended first. We never start work we cannot stand behind.
How do I prepare?
No blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 48 hours. No alcohol for 24 hours. Clean skin, no makeup on the area. Avoid sun, retinol and chemical peels for 2 weeks beforehand. Eat a full meal before you arrive.
